Full Size Headboards
Welcome to my website about full size headboards and everything related! Full size headboards are one of the last remaining true beauties or art and design. While most of the rest of the world is concerned with going green, making everything minimalistic and saving money, headboard makers continue to create beautiful works of art that will grace the ends of your bed forever.
They say that the bed is often the focal point of most bedrooms. They also say that full size headboards are the focal point of the bed. So by this (very simple) logic, the headboard is the focal point of the entire bedroom, and can make or break what people think of it (especially as a first impression).
While most full size headboards are made of wood (as is the traditional style) there are also many beautiful metal ones that you can get. The problem with buying a metal full size headboard is that you are often compromising comfort for style, since they are too spiky an uncomfortable to lay against (unless you use around 15 pillows!) so it depends if you think you’ll be lying up in bed a lot (possibly to watch TV or to read a book late at night). If you don’t think you’ll be doing any of these things very often then by all means invest in one of the many metal full size headboards available on the market today.
Another kind of headboard that I have recently come to admire are the brown ‘leathery’ kind (I’m not sure exactly what they are made of) that are extremely smooth in texture and are stitched beautifully with light brown thread. These full size headboards have a slightly oriental (more Japanese than anything) feel about them, and they make a room look very classic whilst retaining a modernistic image. These are the kinds of headboards that people will really notice and make comments about because they look so amazingly good in their simplicity. Another really amazing benefit of this type of headboard is that they are often padded (making them a lot more comfortable than even the wood style ones) meaning you can lay against them in extreme comfort – without even the need for any pillows.
Full size headboards can be bought separately from each bed frame (in fact, I recommend doing it this way everything) so you can be as experimental with them as you like. However, don’t forget to match up the sizes so that the frame matches the size of it. This is usually fairly simple since most types are a standard size (such as King, Queen, Double, Single, etc).
There’s nothing worse than having a headboard that is only half of the size of the bed, as you can’t properly relax or sleep in comfort for fear of falling out (even though this fear is very irrational, if you’ve grown up your who life sleeping with full size headboards that you’ll no doubt be a bit thrown off and shaken up when this changes to one that’s only half of the size that you’re used to).
